Martian Rocket explorations

The IMD art department was nearly all working on different ideas for the alien ship. Darren Bacon's awesome design was what the director was looking for, but it was fun to work on and see the spectrum of ideas. I love the results of multiple people working on the same assignment.

This was my result of the first round of rocket explorations.

The script had specific lines on how characters got in an out of the rocket.

In these, I wanted to explore different ways the ship could land.

The rocket silhouette was eventually simplified to a retro rocket shape. I thought a lava lamp would look great as a rocket.

This was the second design I proposed in the first round.
